This project consists of the renovation of all exterior church grounds in the heart of the town of Dorado, Puerto Rico, opposite the Plaza de Recreo and City Hall, including a retention wall between the lower level of the street and the upper level of the Church to provide for additional public parking and trees at street level.

All horizontal surfaces are of custom-made, locally produced cast stone for all walls and vertical surfaces. Benches and seating areas are integrated to planting areas, landscaping is maximized on site, and electrical and lighting fixtures are added to the premises for aesthetic and security purposes. The long-term project objective is to extend the visual perception of the space and extend materiality and landscaping to the Plaza de Recreo at front. In this way, the Church will have the visual effect of being within the larger Plaza, thereby homogenizing the public realm at the town center and restoring its original condition.

La rehabilitación del atrio de la iglesia y todas sus áreas exteriores, el predio se encuentra en una posición privilegiada en el corazón de la ciudad de Dorado, Puerto Rico frente a la Plaza de Recreo y la Alcaldía Municipal. Para maximizar el área y proporcionar un mejor estacionamiento público y árboles a nivel de la calle, el proyecto propone un muro de retención entre el nivel inferior de la calle al norte y el nivel superior de la iglesia.

 Los bancos y las zonas de asientos están integrados a las áreas de siembra, el paisajismo se maximiza en el sitio, y los accesorios eléctricos y de iluminación se agregan a las instalaciones con fines estéticos y de seguridad. El objetivo a largo plazo es ampliar la percepción visual del espacio y extender la materialidad y el paisajismo a la Plaza de Recreo en el frente. De esta manera, la Iglesia tendrá el efecto visual de estar dentro de la Plaza más grande, homogeneizando así el ámbito público en el centro de la ciudad y restaurando su condición original.
