This project concerns the traditional library typology as an active, modern and open space with abundant natural sunlight that emphasizes comfort and approachability to students, rather than as a static repository for books and media. The design team was given the task of creating a library space that would be inviting to students enrolled at a school for technical careers, many of which do not own a personal computer nor are accustomed to the use of reference materials. As such, the library was located as the first building you see upon entering campus in what used to be a one-story building housing the student refectory, in order to both encourage students to use the facilities and also serve as a new and welcoming space for visitors to premises.

Este proyecto actualiza la tipología tradicional de biblioteca a ser un espacio activo, moderno y abierto con iluminación natural enfatizando el confort y ambiente acogedor para estudiantes, en lugar de ser un repositorio de libros y medios mixtos. El cliente solicitó un espacio atractivo al estudiante matriculado en la institución educativa de carreras cortas, muchos de los cuales no tienen equipos propios de computadoras ni acostumbran a utilizar materiales de referencias de recursos de información. Por tanto, la biblioteca se ubica en el primer edificio según se entra al campus, en lo que era una estructura existente de un solo nivel que albergaba una cafetería, para así animar al estudiantado a usar las facilidades y también servir como un espacio de bienvenida al lugar.
